| Extensis Web Font Plug-in now provides web designers free access to web fonts from WebINK and Google Web Fonts PORTLAND, Ore. – November 8, 2011 – Integrating web fonts at all points throughout the creative workflow has been a challenge for many web designers. Today, Extensis closes the web font gap in the traditional web design workflow by adding Google Web Fonts to their Web Font Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop. From extensive surveys of web designers, Extensis has identified that the vast majority of designers begin the website design process in Adobe Photoshop. Initial Photoshop mock-ups require a desktop version of their web fonts. The Web Font Plug-in now puts web fonts at their fingertips through a new panel in the application. “Web designers want easy access to the tools that they need to design great websites. The Web Font Plug-in offers high quality web typography directly in the tools that they’re already using,” said Chris Meyer, Extensis’ Senior Product Manager for Font Solutions. “Professional web fonts are now available all the way throughout the design process: from mock-up through web delivery.” Extensis’ Web Font Plug-in already provides web designers with free access to thousands of WebINK web fonts, and now adds convenient access to hundreds of fonts from Google Web Fonts. “Integrating Google Web Fonts into the Extensis Web Font Plug-in reduces the pain of creating website comps using web fonts.” says David Kuettel, tech lead of Google Web Fonts. “The Web Font Plug-in gives designers expanded creative options and makes Google Web Fonts nearly ubiquitous for web designers and developers.” The Web Font Plug-in is available free of charge, and can be downloaded immediately from http://www.webfontplugin.com. The Plug-in provides free access to use WebINK and Google Web Fonts in website design mock-ups. WebINK fonts are available for use from the Web Font Plug-in, and include thousands of high-quality fonts from foundries like Dalton Maag, Mostardesign and Paratype. Available today, the Web Font Plug-in now includes many popular open-source font families from Google Web Fonts, including Lobster, Droid Sans and Ubuntu. To demonstrate how to integrate Web Fonts into the Web Design process, Extensis will offer a free educational Webcast on November 29: How to Implement Web Fonts On Your Websites.
